The Friends of Sabino Canyon (FOSC) is a 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization that, since its founding in 1993, has raised funds to preserve, protect, and enhance our unique canyon. Sabino Canyon is among the best examples of the Arizona Uplands, the northeastern most subdivision of the Sonoran Desert Region. The tripartite logo of the FOSC emphasizes the three dominant life zones found here.
Visitors from Arizona, the USA, and many nations the world over generously support the efforts of FOSC and its partners to ensure the development and upkeep of the Canyon. The benefits provided by this special place to recreationists, nature lovers, and other visitors is beyond compare. FOSC is proud to have a role in the stewardship of Sabino Canyon – its plants and animals as well as its infrastructure for human enjoyment.
All tax deductible donations to FOSC are completely devoted to the mission of the Friends. The Board of Directors, and all our non-federal partner agencies are unpaid volunteers. FOSC supports projects of the Forest Service and the volunteer organizations: Santa Catalina Volunteer Patrol (SCVP), the Sabino Canyon Volunteer Naturalists (SCVN), and Southern Arizona Rescue Association (SARA). Together we are an important part of what makes Sabino Canyon special.
